SERENGETI SOJOURN MOBILE CAMP RETURNS TO THE EAST AFRICAN PLAINS

South Africa, Cape Town, 7 April 2021: ESCAPE to the exquisite savannah of the Serengeti and track the world’s greatest beasts as they roam the expansive Tanzanian landscape. Immerse yourself in this raw African experience: up-close, wild, big-sky – an adventure of a lifetime. The unique Serengeti Sojourn luxury tented camp moves throughout the year and – after 12 months of closure – has finally reopened for bookings.

As parts of our world slowly return to normalcy and begin to open borders, we celebrate with this breath of good news: an opportunity to make that bucket-list travel dream come true.

More than ever before, we crave to be in nature. We crave space, travel, new experiences – a break from what we’ve known and lived through inside our own four walls over the past year. From 1 July 2021, the camp will open in Lobo, northern Serengeti, where it will remain until this November. During this period, guests get to witness the great migration of over one-million wildebeest, 200 000 zebras and other magnificent animals, including four globally threatened or endangered species: the black rhino, elephant, wild dog and cheetah. From 22 December 2021, the camp will open in Ndutu, southern Serengeti.

NEWMARK Hotels, Reserves, Lodges and Residences celebrates this reopening with a special rate of “pay for three, stay for four days”. This will be valid for all bookings staying from 1 July to 31 October 2021. Don’t forget to enquire about the magnificent hot-air balloon safari!

“We’ve seen a surge in bookings and a promising start to the second quarter of 2021,” says Neil Markovitz, CEO of NEWMARK, Hotels, Reserves, Lodges and Residences. “Our decision to re-open Serengeti Sojourn came after much deliberation, but we feel that with the increase in the vaccine uptake (internationally) and the gradual return to a sense of normalcy, that we’ll be more than ready to welcome guests. Travel provides essential income to so many who rely on business from tourism – so many who have struggled over the past year. It is with great excitement that we look forward to opening our doors and welcoming you to the holiday of a lifetime!”

Why not obtain the best of both worlds with NEWMARK’s exclusive six-day package, including a three-night stay at the serene Chuini Zanzibar Beach Lodge – an idyllic seaside escape on the Unguja Island – as well as your three-night Serengeti Sojourn.
